Photo dump: Chasing flamingos in Camarones

Camarones translates to Prawns in English which is an odd name for a place, but when you realise the tiny town is based a round a huge sea fed lake that is literally jumping with prawns it makes perfect sense. Flamingos seem to think so too. We visited out of season so not only where there hardly any flamingos,  but absolutely no tourists as well. But part of the charm of Camarones is taking the time to watch the simple life of the local fisherman, visit the turtle sanctuary and scoff fresh prawns! We found it to be the perfect nature escape from the well worn gringo trail. k&a
