Photodump: Shades of Melbourne Winter

City centre

Somehow I have only ever visited Melbourne in the Winter, this visit culminating in a particularly cold and moody climate. Living in a subtropical part of Australia it’s nice to be reminded what a true Winter feels like; blustery, drizzly and often grey. At the same time, Melbourne does an excellent job of chasing away the gloominess with colour, painted walls, bright menus and warming whiskey dens.

Laneway love

We had a whirlwind catchup with a few old friends, did our best to make the most of every meal out and wandered around the eclectic shops and lane-ways. We also drank a bit of Guinness at some old fireside pubs and hole in the wall bars, the vibe and energy of Melbourne making Winter all the brighter.

Here’s a little snap shot of our stay.
