Step back in time: India and Nepal

It’s not unusual that I’ve been dreaming of travel, but I’ve also been looking back through old photos. Remembering a time some twenty years ago when I first visited India and Nepal. A six month visit to a country that still didn’t know what plastic was, where plates were made of clay or banana leaves and traditional clothes were more common than Western knock offs. Life was simple, poverty was the great equaliser and many villages were still untouched by electricity.

As my old film photos start to suffer from the passing of time I wanted to digitise them for my own records as well as share a glimpse of a culture that I will always be happy to immerse myself in again. On more recent visits I realise much has changed in two decades but the first visit to a place will always be fresh in my mind.

I hope you enjoy looking back with me, these are some of my favourite from that adventure.
