Appreciating Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art

One of the defining things about our emerging Australian culture is the influence surrounding countries and new migrants have on our food, our language and most definitely our art.

Every three years Brisbane gets treated to the best of contemporary art from our own backyard – the diverse and expansive region of the Asia Pacific. The Gallery of Modern Art, an incredible building in itself, sits right on the Brisbane River and offers winning exhibitions like the current Asia Pacific Triennal or APT7 – for free. Even if modern art isn’t your thing, you might find this gallery wins you over. Get out there!
