Squeezing the most out of life | An Aussie and a Colombian living life with a wandering spirit. Eight years together & over 60 countries up our sleeves, we're sharing the love |

Poking around Paddington

Since we returned home to Australia we’ve set up house in an old familiar suburb, close to friends, walking distance to the city and most of all in an area that celebrates the colonial charm of Brisbane. A place heaving with Australian history, quaint boutiques and traditional wooden homes.

The kind of leafy place where the kookaburras laugh loudly and the sun sets pink behind the nearby rolling hills. An area where you don’t worry about locking up everything and know that if you leave your front door wide open only the breeze will blow in. The kind of space that is all the more appreciated after a long wander abroad.

With my parents visiting from Sydney this week we thought it was only right to take a wander along the main street through the antique shops, stop for coffee, languish over lunch in the Winter sun and poke around the second hand fashion options.

For those friends and family overseas that might wonder where we are, here is a visual peak around the streets we call home. For Brisbane visitors, a day spent wandering this area is to know a slice of colourful suburbia in Australia’s third biggest city.

No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow. Lin Yutang
