Noosa landing

A guest post from a lovely English lady we have the current pleasure to be sharing our home in Australia with. Kris and Andres

My first weekend out of the city… after relocating to Brisbane a few days before. Not a bad start I thought. Although after getting out of the car at Noosa National Park I realised it was going to be better than not bad.

We started walking early and it was fresh by Queensland standards, shirts off weather in England (where I hail from) but in the morning there’s something about the light here, its so clear and everything looks crisp – its a photographers paradise.

The only other place I have seen light like it is in Cape Town. When I pointed this out a friend mentioned its on the same latitude.

You would never even consider the position of your country on the globe relative to others in Europe. But here it feels like a big deal. I think its because you’re that much closer to nature, and when it surrounds you it makes you aware of how vulnerable you are to it.

The walk at Noosa takes you through constantly changing flora and fauna, past countless coves and some stunning beaches. I just kept looking at glassy crystal clear sea and thinking – I’m living here now, it’s not a holiday! I still can’t quite believe it.
