Photo dump: The dance of the dragon

One of the most important parts of the New Year Spring Festival is the dance of the dragon; a spectacular procession that evokes traditional Chinese values. It also just so happens to be the Year of the Dragon – the fire breathing ‘star’ of the zodiac for a good number of reasons.

Dragons are meant to bring good luck to people; especially since their qualities are believed to include power, dignity, fertility, wisdom and good old auspiciousness. Apparently it’s a beast that can do no wrong.

You think it would be an event not to be missed, and believe it or not somehow we missed it. Luckily for us, our fumbled miscommunication was salvaged by a friend; he managed to not only see the whole event, but capture it beautifully in photos.

Now we don’t feel like we missed out so much. Thanks again for sharing Tryg!

Tryg is currently travelling long term with a friend through Asia. You can see more of his beautiful images and read about their journey here.
